Food Parcels

The Weekly Drop In Session every Thursday is our main activity. On that day we serve around 100 clients with the support of our partners from various voluntary sector agencies. We rely heavily on the generousity of churches, individuals and organisations to carry on this necessary work.

There are two types of food parcels:

  • Basic or ordinary for refugees,¬† individuals in crisis, the unemployed¬† and on low income
  • Special food parcels mean something extra for destitute ¬†asylum seekers

70 to 80 food parcels were being given out to clients every week until the current economic recession started. With the growth of migrant workers, the number of food parcels has gone from 70 to 120 approximately every week. The food items in a bag entirely depend on the availability of the food stuffs in our store and on donations. See list and picture
